  • Physicians are available to see your child on weekends and during regular business hours on weekdays.  Nurse Practitioners are available to see patients on weekday evenings.  Hours vary based on staff availability and demand. Please call for the most up-to-date information.
  • What’s a Nurse Practitioner?  A Registered Nurse (RN) who has additional education and training in a specialty area such as family practice or pediatrics. Pediatric NPs can provide regular health care for kids including making a diagnosis and writing prescriptions.
  • Dos:  Available after hour services include urine dip, mono spot, strep swab, flu swab, eye exam to test for scratch on the eye, Dermabond ®, vaccines, injectable antibiotic, nausea medicine, breathing treatments for croup or wheezing.  Our office is best equipped to handle minor emergencies such as sore throat, ear ache, fever, and minor cuts.
  • Our office does have Dermabond ® which is a liquid skin adhesive used to close cuts and small wounds.  It is a “simple, quick, painless and cost-effective way to manage many lacerations with cosmetic results that have been judged to be at least as good, or better than, the results achieved by traditional sutures”*  Wounds that form a line and are not under significant tension (i.e. not on a knee or knuckle) have the best results.

  • Don’ts:  Our after-hours office staff are not equipped to do blood work, x-rays (can be obtained off-site), stitches, casts, cast removal, process routine refills or referrals.
  • Patients of both offices are welcome to utilize the after-hours services at the central office.  We are also happy to see patients in the office who are visiting from out of town or simply need an urgent care clinic and were unable to get in to their regular physician during business hours

Weekday Evening Hours

These hours are staffed by one of our highly experienced nurse practitioners.  The nurse practitioners work with the physician on call to provide your child with excellent patient care in a timely fashion (no ER wait!).  Hours vary slightly depending on call volume and staff availability, but are typically 5pm to 9pm.

Weekend Hours

These hours are staffed by one of our pediatricians and a nurse practitioner. Weekend hours may vary slightly depending on call demand, but we are usually open 8:30 am through noon and 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturdays and 8:30 am to noon on Sundays.

Holiday Hours

Our office is open most holidays except New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.  For major holidays such as Labor Day, Memorial Day, Easter Sunday, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve only the central office is open, and it is open half day (morning hours only – 8am through 12 noon).
