Lactation Center
Capital Pediatrics is Proud to Offer its own Lactation Center
Breastfeeding can be difficult at first! This is often times a hard concept for people to grasp since, after all, breastfeeding is supposed to be instinctive. What most people don’t realize is how many different variables can influence this supposedly natural and instinctive process! The best thing you can do to prepare yourself is to take a breastfeeding class BEF
ORE the baby is born. Also, develop your support team! Statistics show that moms who have support from loved ones are more likely to succeed. The majority of moms can overcome the problems that may develop in the beginning. The important thing is to reach out for help and stick with it!
Here at Capital Pediatrics we strive to help you through this wonderful journey! We have a full time lactation consultant who will assess how the feedings are going and will help you to get over those hurdles. She can help you find the right products (if needed) and develop a personal plan for your specific needs. She can answer common questions like: What can I safely take for my cold? How do I store my breastmilk?
How long is the milk good for once thawed? What do I do when my baby gets teeth? When should I introduce a bottle? How do I prepare for returning to work? (and much more) Please click on the following links below for more information and feel free to call her @ 512-454-4545.
