Thomas Hughes, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Hughes has been in practice at Capital Pediatric Group for over 35 years. He received his undergraduate degree at Colgate University and his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His pediatric residency was completed at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. After a brief tour in the United States Air Force in Southeast Asia, he began practice at Capital Pediatric Group in 1973. He has also worked as a geneticist and a hospitalist.
He has won the Community Pediatric Faculty Member of the Year Award voted on by the pediatric residents at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas three times and was recently listed as a “Super Doc” by Texas Monthly. He has also been recognized by US News and World Report as one of America’s Top Doctors. This is a peer-nominated distinction. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern and has a special interest in teaching pediatric residents. He lives in Austin with his wife, Dory, and their two Scotties, Katie and Gordon. His son Tommy recently graduated from Lafayette College and in August will attend law school at Rutgers University in New Jersey. His daughter Jennifer and son-in-law also live in Austin with their three young children, Zach, Eli, and Sophie.
Allan Frank, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Frank has been with Capital Pediatric Group for 30 years. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and then completed his Medical Degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He later participated in a Pediatric Residency at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Frank also completed a Pulmonary Fellowship at Baylor. His practice includes both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Lung Disorders.
He is a co-director of the Austin Cystic Fibrosis Clinic. With his wife, Jolene, they have a daughter Natalie and a son David. Additionally their household includes a cichlid fish tank, a one-eyed pug named Frank, and an eighteen pound cat named Red. Dr. Frank is Board Certified in Pediatrics.
Jayashree Mani, M.D. F.A.A.P.
Dr. Mani joined Capital Pediatrics Group after completing her medical degree at Madras Medical College and her pediatric training at Children’s Hospital of Austin. She is Board certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
She has been active in the hospital committee and served as a member of the medical executive board at the Children’s Hospital of Austin. She has also served on the peer review committee at St. David’s hospital. Presently she serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UTMB and enjoys teaching medical students office based clinical care. Dr mani was recently named ‘Top Doc Teacher of Distinction award. She was nominated by the UTMB school of Medicine, faculty, staff and course committiees. She has also been recognized by US News and World Report as one of America’s Top Doctors. This is a peer-nominated distinction.
Her travel experiences help her understand the cultures in different parts of the world and her practice experiences abroad have given her the unique awareness to handle variety of illnesses.
She advises on medical needs for international travel and has particular interests in ADD, nutrition and obesity, and behavior and sleep disorders.
She lives with her husband Kalvi and her dog Tiger. Her two daughters Shrinidi and Nithya have decided to follow her career path are both currently in medical school.
Sandra Treybig, M.D. F.A.A.P.
Dr. Sandra Treybig moved to Austin in 1995 and joined Capital Pediatrics. She is originally from Houston, Texas where her family still lives. She graduated from Texas A&M Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then attended UT Medical School in Houston and also completed her pediatric residency there.
She is board certified in Pediatrics. In her off time, she enjoys exercising, reading and traveling with her husband Mike and daughter Sadie.
Her daughter is an avid junior golfer and much of the family’s spare time is spent on the golf course.
Helen Ma, D.O., F.A.A.P.
She received her Undergraduate Degree from the University of Mississippi and her Doctor of Osteopathy Degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern and helps teach residents at Dell Children’s Medical Center.
Her Pediatric Residency was completed at Children’s Hospital of Austin. Dr. Ma is Board Certified in Pediatrics.
Elise Kibler, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Kibler received her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine and completed her residency at Texas Children’s Hospital/ Baylor Affiliated Hospitals Program in Houston. She joined Capital Pediatrics in 2005. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern and helps train pediatric residents through Dell Children’s pediatric residency program. She has been recognized by her patients as one of America’s Most Compassionate Doctors.
Dr. Kibler enjoys volunteering overseas and locally. She spent a year volunteering in Ecuador and has also volunteered at public clinics in Guatemala, Ecuador, and Botswana. She is fluent in Spanish. Running and swimming are her favorite hobbies, and she has run the Houston and Boston Marathons. Dr. Kibler lives with her two small children Tony and Lila and their two cats.
